Haha, frank. The whole concept is completely striped down. Just to play devil's advocate, should this cup communicate anything more than just what it contains? Is the graphic even necessary? Why should a cup of coffee be an experience, shouldn't it be just a cup of coffee?
well the graphic is attempting to communicate a connection to a meaningful object, it seems like some sort of a past artifact... most probably, a 'tea cup' if not, a 'cup of joe.' by replacing the coffee with juice in this cup, your meaningful cup of coffee experience is ruined. so no the graphic isn't necessary
